What is Open Portfolio? Open Portfolio is a web application that manages the portfolio process. Students can create artifacts (comprised of attachments, comments and searchable tags). These artifacts can be shared with or reviewed by other students, faculty and members of the professional community. More structured evaluation and program information can also be captured by the system (records of progress, classroom observations, summative reviews ect.). Each incarnation of Open Portfolio is a little different depending on the college or program. It is written in PHP and MySQL which is widely supported in the academic environment allowing OP to be ported to other colleges and K-12 settings very easily. OP was developed under a General Public License, which will allow
other schools to use, adapt and redistribute freely
among the educational community. |
