Using the multiple functions of Transcript Search in combination, an extraordinary number of specific features can be searched. In addition, using the 'FolioLine' references in the search results in conjunction with a split screen view of 'Transcript' and 'Beowulf Manuscript', one can examine the searched feature in the manuscript itself as well as access more information by clicking an applicable image map.

For example, select 'Additions', then 'Comprehensive'. Highlight 'Fitt' and select Fitt XXXVIII. Click 'Search'.

The 'no. of instances' is 4. Click 'Show Result.' Select '192v7'.

Set view for 'Beowulf Manuscript' and 'Transcript' with 'Top/Bottom' Layout. Use 'Goto' to select folio 192v. When the folio opens, click the blue button on the toolbar to activate the image maps. The word e(d)wit in line 7 is now outlined. Click the outlined reading to open a note in the left frame.

Click the image in the note to get a closer view of the reading.
