University of Kentucky Public
Relations provides communication services to administration,
faculty and staff. Services range from news and editorial services
to special events planning.
UK Public Relations' staff are
responsible for gathering and disseminating information about
the University
of Kentucky and the faculty, staff and students. As part of
its responsibilities, the PR staff identifies and develops
news and feature stories about your activities and the innovative
and interesting work you
are doing. We also distribute news
releases and other formal communications.
That information is then
provided to the media - newspapers, magazines, online outlets,
radio and television - and we hope it will encourage appropriate
print and broadcast coverage by reporters and editors of external
news agencies. We also provide a searchable archive of University
of Kentucky online news releases and media advisories.
In short, UK Public Relations
supports the teaching, research and public service functions
and administrative needs of the institution by preparing and
distributing news releases and assisting media representatives
in their news-gathering efforts.
UK Public Relations' staff have
many years of experience in print and broadcast journalism
and media relations, and we can help you determine how best
to
present your work to the media.
UK Public Relations also
publishes UK News,
the faculty/staff newspaper, and compiles and distributes the UK
Events Calendar (updated weekly) that contains information
submitted by departments and on-campus organizations.
