Anna Gatewood

Anna is from the coast of Georgia where she grew up riding horses and going to the beach. She earned her BA in English from Valdosta State University in Georgia where she focused on creative writing. There, she was a peer tutor for three years and found her passion for teaching. After graduation, she worked for a year as a professional Writing Consultant for the Savannah College of Art and Design, working with students to improve their creative and academic writing.  Anna joined Academic Enhancement in 2010 as a Teaching Assistant for EPE 174 and UK 100 Writing and spent a year in that role before becoming Assistant Director in 2011.  In 2012, Anna completed her Masters in English Literature and is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Geography at University of Kentcuky. Anna lives in Lexington with her husband, Jamie, who is also in graduate school at UK, and her growing family. When she's not in her office, you can usually find her in the kitchen or outside with her family.
