Assistant Director for Peer Tutoring

Anna GatewoodAnna is from the coast of Georgia where she grew up riding horses and going to the beach. She earned her BA in English from Valdosta State University in Georgia where she focused on both creative writing and literature. There, she was a peer tutor for three years and found her passion for teaching. After graduation, she worked for a year as a professional Writing Consultant for the Savannah College of Art and Design, working with students to improve their creative and academic writing. In addition to working as an Assistant Director for Academic Enhancement, Anna is completing her Masters in Literature at the University of Kentucky. She specializes in Southern and Postcolonial literatures and looks forward to making a career out of working with undergraduate students. Anna lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with her fiance, Jamie, who is also in graduate school at UK, and her hairy, four-legged children, Duke and Blue. When she's not in her office, you can usually find her in the kitchen or outside with her family.
