K-Week at The Study

The first week at UK has a special place in every wildcat’s heart. K-week, a nine day-long event, consists of roughly 250 events that help smooth the transition to UK and allow new students to get to know campus better. Nearly every organization on campus prepares for K-Week months in advance to welcome freshmen and transfer students. As a result, K-Week is prime time for free food, t-shirts and swag.

Here at Academic Enhancement, we have been aflutter preparing to host our very own K-Week events to welcome new students to their new home at the University of Kentucky! This year, we will be hosting Donut Avoid The Study and Preparing to be a Pre-Professional on the 3rd floor of Complex Common. The Complex Commons building is located between the Blanding and Kirwan Towers on South Campus. You can also find us at Campus Ruckus and other events, such as Succeeding in a Large Lecture Class. Check your K-Week Schedule here for more details!

Donut Avoid The Study August 23rd, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Our first event, Donut Avoid The Study, is Academic Enhancement’s open house. Feel free to take a break from moving into your dorm to stop by The Study on the 3rd floor of Complex Commons to enjoy a donut! There will be a raffle for a prize-bag of dorm supplies and also the opportunity to win a free t-shirt and other cool prizes! It’s a great opportunity to check out our space so that you’re familiar and comfortable with The Study! Our student employees and staff will be there to answer any questions you have.

Preparing to be a Pre-Professional Aug 23rd, 1 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.

If fulfilling your dreams includes enrolling in pre-professional program at UK or post-graduate program after college, you do not want to miss our interactive pre-professional panel! This event is for any student that plans on enrolling in one of UK’s many pre-professional programs. This event features a panel of students currently in pre-professional and graduate programs, for example, law, dentistry, medicine or pharmacy. Our student panel will share their experiences and talk about the impact of Academic Enhancement’s programs as students prepare to gain admission to pre-professional programs. This event will take place on the 3rd floor of Complex Commons!
