Submissions

Limestone is currently in a phase of reconfiguration in which we are considering the various directions in which the journal may go. For that reason, we kindly request that you do not submit manuscripts at this time. Please continue to check the website for updates and news. In late August or early September, the new staff will release a Call for Papers. If you have already submitted a MS, please note that it will be some months before it is read and a decision is made. In light of that delay, we understand if you retract the submission send it elsewhere. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you will submit in the future. Please look for the upcoming 2007 Limestone issue which will debut in August.

Guidelines

We accept unsolicited manuscripts of fiction, poetry, and black and white artwork that have not been previously published. We will consider simultaneous submissions, but we request to be notified immediately if the status of a submission changes. All submissions should be accompanied by a brief biography and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Do not send revisions unless specifically requested to do so. We will return submissions only if sufficient postage is provided. We accept submissions all year. Inquiries about the status of a submission are discouraged, but when necessary should be made in writing and should include a self-addressed stamped envelope. We encourage writers and artists to review our journal. A sample copy is available upon request: subscriptions.

Poetry

Submissions should be limited to five poems or fewer, typed and single-spaced. We prefer shorter poems although our main criteria is the quality of the work. We will not consider electronic submissions, but will require an electronic version of the work upon acceptance for publication.

Fiction

Submissions should be limited to no more than fifteen typed, double-spaced pages. We will not consider electronic submissions, but will require an electronic version of the work upon acceptance for publication.

Art

All art is published in black and white. Submissions should be 5x7 or smaller, on CD or sent via email. Please do not send originals.

Payment

One copy of the issue in which your work appears will be sent to you. Additional issues can be purchased at the reduced rate of $4.00 each.
