Michael joined the UK Geography Department in 2004, after completing his MA at the University of Iowa. His MA research examined challenges facing small-scale vegetable farmers in St. Lucia, West Indies. His current research interests are political economy, development, work/labor, tourism, and the service sector. His dissertation will be an extended ethnographic study of taxi drivers working in the tourism industry in St. Lucia.
