Taylor is a current M.A. student in the department and a lifelong Kentuckian. Before continuing on into the graduate program, he earned his B.A. in geography and political science (with a minor in Appalachian Studies) from UK in December 2008. His research examines the political economy of electronic waste, especially the developing tensions between idealized notions of an 'information economy' and the reality of exploitation inherent to natural resource extraction.
In addition, Taylor is currently a research assistant for Dr. Matthew Zook's ongoing project investigating the geographies of user-generated geographic information within Google Maps. For more information, visit http://www.floatingsheep.org
