Profile

Greetings! I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Geography, with a concentration in Social Theory, here at the University of Kentucky. I am mainly a cultural geographer whose research interests reside generally in the areas of transnationalism, globalization, cyberspace and cyberculture, with regional interests in Central and Eastern Europe. I am also very interested in technology studies (especially the social impacts of technological change), media studies (especially representations of culture and place in film), and questions pertaining to belief systems and the "geographical imaginary." My current dissertation work takes a largely poststructuralist approach to understanding the Internet mail-order bride industry.

I earned a B.A. in Geography and Environmental Studies from SUNY College at Geneseo, and an M.A. in Geography from the University of Cincinnati. I am a native of Rochester, NY.
