LECTURER, UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Kentucky seeks to appoint a Lecturer, beginning in August, 2008, for the academic year 2008-2009.  The possibility exists for one-year reappointments in subsequent years.  The area of teaching will be primarily in introductory-level courses in environmental geology, natural resources, and natural hazards, as well as in a course in basic geology for education majors.  Preference will be given to an applicant who can also effectively teach basic field methods and a physical geology course for science and engineering students.  The Ph.D. degree must be completed before the starting date of the appointment.   The University of Kentucky is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer and values diversity. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.  Send resume, statement of teaching interests, and the names and addresses (e-mail) of three references to Chair of the Lecturer Search Committee, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Kentucky, 101 Slone Building, Lexington, Kentucky 40506-0053.  We will begin to review materials on May 1, and we will continue to consider materials submitted until the position is filled.
