The Jurassic period was 205-138 million years ago. Ginkoes
and cycads dominated the plant life. Dinosaurs ruled the land as birds
appeared. During this period the continents were clustered together like
a supercontinent. The mammals were small and secretive, perhaps nocturnal.
The Jurasic period is in the Mesozoic Era. Some important fossils in that
period are ammonites, sea urchins, dinosaurs and their eggs.
To learn more about the Jurassic, try these:
Archaeopteryx
- That old bird.
Diplodocus
- What a neck!
Stegosaurus
- Watch that tail, now.
