Final days...
The most unexpected find was this nice Mommy turtle in the sand. We helped here a little bit toward finding her way back to the water, and a Georgia DNR ranger helped her the rest of the way. Why she was there ahead of the rest of her kind (they weren't due for a few days yet) and why she was there during the day, we didn't find out. Mysteries of the universe.

This is a partially constructed (and weirdly colored) panoramic view of the ebb tidal delta. The students are walking back for dinner (chicken fajitas, courtesy of Mark and Eric -- thanks guys!) away from the final trench of the day. Which way are the 3-D megaripples migrating in this picture? (hint -- remember that the steep side of the bedform is found on the down-current, avalanche slope.
