Judaic_Studies Faculty Courses Contact Lecture Series Luckens Prize Luckens Prize Recipients Holocaust Rumor External Links		2008-2009 Lecture Series Monday, October 19th, at 8pm Dr. Neta Stahl of Johns Hopkins University will give a lecture in the Singletary Center at the University of Kentucky. Her title is "The Homecoming of the Other: Representations of Jesus in Twentieth Century Hebrew Literature". She will be looking at the literary and rhetorical devices which modern Hebrew authors have adopted to appropriate the figure of Jesus, who has traditionally been conceived of as the ultimate Other in pre-modern Jewish literature. The talk is based on her Hebrew book Tzelem Yehudi: Yitzugav shel Yeshu basifrut haIvrit shel ha-Mea ha-Esrim (Tel Aviv, 2008). These events are free and open to the public.
