Professor
Garrity's research interest is in medical sociology. It focuses on
biopsychosocial responses to life stress, including confrontations with serious
illness. Most recently, he is studying the health and quality of life of
chronic drug abusers. His research has been reported primarily in behavioral
journals with a health/medical orientation and supported by grants from
several institutes of the NIH as well as private foundations. He is currently
serving as the Program Director of a National Institute on Drug Abuse-funded
doctoral and postdoctoral training program entitled "Research Training
in Drug Abuse Behavior." |
