| Professor Hanson's interests include marriage and family, social psychology, and extension. Dr. Hansen has authored extension publications on family stress, effective family communications, work and family, parenting, teen sexuality, aging, and grief. He served as chair of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service's Youth and Families at Risk Task Force from 1991 to 1994. Dr. Hansen is currently involved in a five-year, multi-state research project titled "Rural Low-Income Families: Tracking their Well-Being and Functioning in the Context of Welfare Reform." Other research efforts include an examination of the impact of boredom on family dynamics and the use of national data to explore variations in the social psychological environments that characterize rural and urban contexts. | |
