"Now when I say ‘I’m going home’ – I don’t mean my childhood home – I mean my UK home.”

“My classes at UK have put me in contact with professors who have become my mentors throughout my undergraduate years. I think it’s rare to have actual relationships with your professors – especially at a big university – and having that kind of support system as I’ve adjusted to my new life on campus has been a true comfort. UK really promotes collaboration between its students and its faculty, and I don’t think that happens everywhere.

I’ve always taken pride in being independent, but being a student here has pushed me to a level of independence I never thought I could reach. The environment at UK encourages students to get involved and make the most of their time here. The more I involve myself in campus activities and projects, the more I have settled into my life in Lexington. Now when I say ‘I’m going home’ – I don’t mean my childhood home – I mean my UK home.”
