UK Recuiters

Emmett Buzz Burnam

"Greetings. My name is Emmett Buzz Burnam. I am the Director of Recruitment for Diversity Initiatives. 'Come See For Yourself' is the basic theme that guides our recruitment of diversity students at the University of Kentucky. We offer frequent 'Come See For Yourself' high school visitation events for students with diverse backgrounds who want a closer look at the UK campus.

I graduated from UK’s Undergraduate and Graduate Schools, played varsity football, sang in the Black Voices gospel choir, and was president of my fraternity. I know first hand that you will find a culturally diverse campus that has committed itself to providing you with a quality education. I encourage you to witness the breadth, depth, length and height of UK’s commitment to your success -- Come See For Yourself."

BrianTroyer

"Hello, my name is Brian Troyer and I am the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admission at the University of Kentucky. As a graduate of UK, I am passionate about helping others learn about all the great opportunities that exist throughout our vibrant campus community. UK offers the resources and opportunities of a large university, yet it has maintained its small campus feel since I first arrived as a freshman on this campus. I love the atmosphere at UK and hope that you will come and visit campus and see what UK has to offer you. My out of state travel territories include: Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York."

My travel territories inside the state include the following counties: Anderson, Boyle, Bullitt, Carroll, Franklin, Henry, Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, Taylor, Trimble, and Washington. NeShaune Mahin Lasley

"Hello! As an admissions counselor for the University of Kentucky, it is my pleasure to assist you as you begin your search for a higher education institution. I was in your shoes a couple of years ago so I know the importance of choosing the school that's right for you; for me, the choice was the College of Communication and Information Studies at UK. Here I seized the opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

While college can be challenging, I also experienced many rewards that extend beyond my degree. I was president of the UK chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, Assistant Editor of the multicultural newspaper, The Summit, contributing writer for the Kentucky Kernel, member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., UK Black Voices Gospel Choir, Black Student Union, and Golden Key Honor Society.

I will be living in Jefferson County, KY covering all Louisville schools, but anyone should feel free to contact me if there are any questions about the campus, the student climate and access to resources, finding scholarships, or anything in regards to your education. My out-of-state travel territories include: Evansville and southern Indiana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Thanks for your interest in our university and I look forward to meeting you soon! I encourage you to take a glimpse into your future at UK, it's an experience you'll never forget!"

"Hello Everyone! My name is Christine Speicher and I am from Union, Kentucky. I graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2009 with a Business Administration degree from the Gatton College of Business and Economics. I am very excited to say that my primary focus is to cover the cities of Indianapolis, Indiana as well as Columbus, Ohio. It is an honor and an exciting opportunity to represent the University of Kentucky in these two territories, along with being able to introduce what it means to "See Blue”"to prospective out-of-state students.

During my undergraduate career I spent four dedicated years as an active member in the Chi Omega Sorority, Preparing Aspiring Wildcats (PAW) as a Student Recruiter, intramural sports participant, partaker of the University Leadership Summit, as well as a humanitarian for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
