Back to School Workshop

The University of Kentucky holds FREE Back to School Workshops for Adults in November and May from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on the UK campus. The workshop and information session is open to adults who are returning to college or to those who will attend college for the first time. Representatives from University of Kentucky and Bluegrass Community and Technical College will participate in this event. Graduate and undergraduate admissions, academic advising, and financial counseling will offer guidance and answer participants' questions.

Although the workshops are free, we encourage you to register in advance by calling Adult Student Services, (859) 257-3802.

2009 Fall Registration

All students must first be admitted to the University of Kentucky before enrolling in classes.

Schedule Books are available online. Class schedules for evening and weekend courses are available at the Evening and Weekend Programs office, 13A Funkhouser, college advising centers, and online.

Newly Admitted Undergraduate Students

Freshman, transfer, and readmission students will register during an advising conference.

Final Deadline for Admission for the 2009 Fall Semester:

  • August 1 – Saturday – Final deadline for submission of all required documents to the Office of Admissions for undergraduate admission, for the 2009 Fall Semester,

All students confirmed for admission need to schedule an advising conference to meet with an advisor and enroll in classes using myUK, the internet registration system (instructions are included in confirmation letter). If you have problems scheduling an advising conference, please contact our office for assistance at 859-257-3159.

Currently Enrolled Undergraduate Students

Priority registration for upcoming semesters is held every November and April. Students are assigned a priority registration window. During this time, continuing students may register for courses, add/drop, review their schedules, and perform other functions.

2009 Fall Important Dates


  • August 20 - 24* – Thursday through Monday – Fall registration for new post-baccalaureate students admitted for the First Summer Session, Second Summer Session or Fall Semester
  • August 21-29 – Friday through Saturday – K Week, UK’s welcome week for all new and returning students
  • August 24 – Monday – Advising Conference and Registration for new freshmen and transfer students including registration for Evening and Weekend
  • August 24 - 25 – Monday and Tuesday – Opening-of-term add/drop for registered students
  • August 25 – Tuesday – Advising Conference and Registration for readmission, and non-degree students including Evening and Weekend
  • August 26 – Wednesday – First day of classes
  • August 26 - September 1 – Wednesday through Tuesday – Late registration for returning students who did not priority register and new applicants cleared late for admission. A late fee is assessed students who register during this time period.
  • September 16 – Wednesday – Last day to change grading option (pass/fail to letter grade or letter grade to pass/fail; credit to audit or audit to credit)
