Evening and Weekend Programs
A variety of UK undergraduate and graduate level courses and degree programs are available in the evenings or on weekends. While many students take a combination of day and evening courses, many other students attend only evening and weekend courses to complete an undergraduate or graduate degree. Classes taught in the evening often begin at 5:30p.m. Classes taught on the weekend generally meet one time per week, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Evening and weekend courses are designated with a "400+" section number in the schedule book, for example, ENG 102 401. EWP provides student services during convenient hours that extend into the evening and on the weekend. For more information and to receive a publication of courses, contact Evening and Weekend Programs or call 859-257-3159.
Independent Study Program
Many UK courses are available through correspondence or via e-mail and online delivery where the student uses a personal computer to read, complete, and submit lessons electronically. Correspondence courses may be started at any time of the year, whether you are taking courses on campus or not. ISP courses have no semester restrictions and students may register for a course through the mail at any time and take as little as eight week or up to a full calendar year to complete a course. For more information and to receive a catalog of courses available, contact Independent Study Program or call 859-257-3466.
Distance Learning Programs
Some UK courses are offered at locations away from the campus such as schools and libraries and other courses are delivered via multimedia instruction. Multimedia courses are broadcast either on KET, Insight Communications, by satellite, or over the Internet. Distance learning courses are designated with a "200+" section number in the schedule book. On-site courses generally meet one time per week, in the evenings. For more information and to receive a catalog, contact Distance Learning Programs or call 859-257-3377.
