Enrollment

Male and female students

Admission

All students must be officially admitted to the University before attending classes. Most applicants are required to pay a $40 application processing fee. Specific questions about undergraduate admission policies and procedures should be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or call (859) 257-2000. Post-baccalaureate applicants are required to submit to the Graduate School a Bachelor's degree transcript showing an awarded degree with a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 (photocopies are acceptable). Specific questions about graduate admission policies and procedures should be directed to the UK Graduate School Admissions or call (850) 257-4613. We encourage students to submit an admission application early.

Registration

When you register for classes, keep in mind that some courses listed in the schedule book may already be filled to capacity. It's a good idea to have several courses, or several different sections of the same course in mind as alternates. New, transfer and readmitted undergraduate students attend an advising conference and register for classes during their conference. Continuing students and graduate students register via the Internet using the webUK registration system or by telephone using the UK-VIP system. Instructions about registering are available online and in the front of the schedule book including a listing of the actual period (window) when you can enroll. Students may add a course up the end of the first week of classes. Students will not receive a supplementary bill when adding a course. They will need to send additional tuition to University of Kentucky Student Billings Services. You may also use webUK to add/drop, view and print your schedule, check for stops, update your address and view financial aid information.

Once you are enrolled at UK, you have the opportunity to register early for the upcoming semester through Priority Registration held every November for spring semester and winter intersession and April for summer sessions and fall semester. During this time, you may register for courses, add/drop, review your schedule and perform other functions. Before registering, all undergraduate degree-seeking students must meet with their academic advisor to plan a schedule and have their advisor hold released. Students usually schedule appointments two weeks prior to priority registration.
