The grants and scholarships listed below are offered through Adult Student Services to adult students and students enrolled nontraditionally who are currently enrolled at the University of Kentucky.

Scholarships for Students Ages 25 and Over
Academic Excellence Scholarships - $1,000 each

P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund - up to $9,000
Educational Loan Fund (ELF), established in 1907, makes loans available to qualified women who desire higher education and are in need of financial assistance. Students must be recommended by a local chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and within two years of completing her course of study. The current maximum loan is $9,000 at 2 percent interest and due six years from the date of issue. Interest is billed annually with principal payments to begin aftergraduation from the program for which the loan was granted. For more information about the P.E.O. Academic Scholarship Programs
In addition to the scholarships above, the University of Kentucky offers other funds to outstanding incoming freshmen, transfer students, and currently enrolled students demonstrating the potential for superior academic performance. Academic-based scholarships and awards are made without regard to financial status, race, creed, religious preference, or sex. Child Care Grant
The University of Kentucky Student Government Association offers a child care grant to UK students who have dependent child/children. The grant is a need-based award and requires you to submit a 2007-2008 FAFSA form and 2006 tax forms prior to receiving funds. In addition to the application, you are required to provide an estimate of your household monthly living expenses and an essay of 100 words or less explaining your need for the grant. Application forms are available from the SGA office, Room 120 Student Center and Adult Student Services, Room 13A Funkhouser Building.
