Project Graduate Instructions
Congratulations on your admission to the University of Kentucky’s Project Graduate program! You must follow these steps to activate your university computing account and select your Advising Conference.
Step 1: Activating Your Computing Account
Your computing accounts were automatically created upon your acceptance to the University of Kentucky. Your computing account enables you to register for classes, pay your tuition on-line, and access many of the computing services at the University of Kentucky such as the student computing labs, the wireless network, retrieve free Microsoft software, activate your Exchange mailbox for sending and receiving email, and much more.
You must activate this computing account before you will be able to register for classes. Please activate the account as soon as possible.
Important Information
In order to activate your computing account, you will need the following information:
- Your Student ID Number – this is included in your acceptance letter.
- Your User ID – this is included in your acceptance letter.
You will frequently use this information to access computing systems and to identify yourself as a student to the University of Kentucky.

Using your computing account
Once activated, your computing account can be used to login to the myUK in order to access your student information and pay your tuition online. You will also be able to register for courses during your registration windows.
Once you have activated your account and enabled your Exchange mailbox, you can start using your computing account immediately to send and receive email. Simply click on Outlook Web Access from the Exchange web site. (NOTE: Forwarding your email off campus will disable your Exchange mailbox.)

If you have questions or problems activating your computing account, please contact IT Customer Service at (859) 257-1300, or at helpdesk@uky.edu. If you are on campus, you can stop by the Customer Service Center in 111 McVey Hall. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Step 2: Registration
As a newly admitted student, you will attend an advising conference (orientation and registration for classes). To select your advising conference date, please log on to myUK. (Note: This requires that you have completed Step 1: Activating Your Link Blue Account above). Click on the Student Services tab, Click on the Admissions tab, Click on the Advising Conference Registration link. Click on View Conferences to Register and then click Go. You will be presented with one or more advising conference dates. Select the conference of your choice.
