Extension
Since 1914, the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service has been bringing educational programs to people across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
As the needs of the people of the Commonwealth change, we strive to make the results of unbiased, scientific research accessible and meaningful and current. In our Extension programs,
- We work with policy makers, farm organizations, and community leaders in assessing policy options and consequences.
- We provide tools to help communities make informed decisions regarding development, recruitment, and service needs.
- We help producers improve management and decision making skills, income, profits, and lifestyle.
- We develop leadership skills of farmers, agribusiness people, and youth.
- We provide an opportunity for our consumers to expand their understanding of the global economy.
- We build skills for evaluating the feasibility of new commodities and value-added activities for farmers.
