Vietnam: Flood Insurance in the Mekong Delta, Team Leader of the economic assessment and feasibility study and developing the flood insurance for Dong Thap Province; Mongolia: Index-based Livestock Insurance, Chief Consultant to the Government of Mongolia; developing the pilot for the first ever Livestock Index Insurance; premium rate making; education; and other ongoing advisory activity

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Skees retired in June 2016 to focus on his work with GlobalAgRisk and Global Parametrics. Dr. Skees has won several outstanding teaching awards at the University of Kentucky for his courses in agricultural and food policy. In 2007 he won the University of Kentucky Great Teacher Award for his graduate course in international development. In 2005 he was the recipient of the Thomas Poe Cooper Research Award in the College of Agriculture.
