Kolter Kalberg
Congratulations to Kolter Kalberg, who successfully defended his master's thesis. The title of his thesis is "Optimism in the Market for Thoroughbred Yearlings: An Empirical Test of Cumulative Prospect Theory." Kolter, we wish you all the best as you continue with your position at NOAA in Hawaii. We also hope that we can all come visit you.
Chris Jeffcoat
Chris Jeffcoat successfully passed his masters thesis. Please send along congratulations if you see him. He is a terrific student and will be missed after he graduates.
Stowe Gets $200,000
Jill Stowe received a $200,00 award approved November 17, 2011, with an additional $100,000 contingent on raising an equivalent amount from donors from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy for the "Growing Kentucky's Equine Economy: Establishing a Baseline with the Kentucky Equine Survey."
Kenny Burdine
Please congratulate Kenny Burdine on the successful defense of his dissertation, "Factors Affecting Feeder Cattle Prices in the Southeast." Thanks also go out to committee members Jeff Lehmkuhler, Ray Smith, Lee Meyer, Greg Halich, and Carl Dillon. Congratulations on a job well done!
