Excellent work has been done on fatty acid and lipid biosynthetic genes in Arabidopsis which provides a good model for study of lipid biosynthetic genes in soybeans. An extensive pathway model in Arabidopsis can be found at the Arabidopsis Acyl Metabolism site. Genes networks in soybean seed development site.
