Equipment and Facilities

The Department of Agronomy at the University of Kentucky has some of the best equipped laboratories in the areas of pedology, mineralogy and geochemistry. The Pedology/Mineralogy/Wetlands laboratory is equipped with modern x-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, fluorescence spectroscopy and optical microscopy instruments. Other laboratories in the department complement this equipment with FT-IR, automatic titration, BET surface area analysis, Zeta potential, TLC, ion chromatography, AA, and electron microscopy instrumentation. Facilities within the University are available for NMR, EDAX, XPS, and laser particle size analysis.
