To evaluate 43 cultivars of Hydrangea macrophylla for their bloom potential in Kentucky landscapes.
To evaluate 43 cultivars of Hydrangea macrophylla that have not been previously evaluated for cut stem floral qualities using high tunnels as a production system.
To evaluate market potential and desirability of 10 hydrangea cultivars in the "antiqued" or "classic" stage using high tunnels as a production system.
To evaluate additional Hydrangea macrophylla cultivars using high tunnel cultivation in containers and controlling pH and aluminum availability in order to manipulate bloom color.
To develop an objective system for identification of hydrangea flower color that can be used to communicate actual color to prospective buyers of hydrangea cut stems.
