Bryan Hains

Bryan Hains began his career as an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education at the University of Kentucky on August 13, 2007. He is the instructor of both AED 371 Advising a Career and Technical Education Student Organization and AED 362 Early Field Experiences in Agricultural Education. In the spring, Dr. Hains will teach AED 670 Advanced Teaching Methods in Career and Technical Education as well as supervise student teachers. In addition to his role as instructor, he serves as a co-advisor to the professional student organization Agricultural Education Society as well as the agricultural sorority CERES. Dr. Hains received his B.S. in Agricultural Education from Colorado State University and a M.A. in Integrated Resource Management also from Colorado State University. After teaching as an Agriscience and Business teacher in Kokomo, Indiana, he received a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education from Purdue University. His current research focus pertains to the biology of student learning and pedagogical practices which influence heightened cognition. He is specifically interested in the instructional methods that can be employed at both the secondary and post-secondary levels to foster a desire to create holistic learning environments. Dr. Hains has been honored to receive several scholarly and teaching awards. In 2004 he was awarded as a Ross Fellow, Purdue University. As an instructor at Purdue University he was presented with the Purdue Graduate School Excellence in Teaching Award, given to the top three graduate instructors in the university, as well as the Purdue University Graduate Student Award for Outstanding Teaching, Department of Youth Development and Agricultural Education. |
