Ruth joined the Community and Leadership Development Department, as Administrative Support Associate I on April 23, 2003. She works with all members of the department, as she handles both the human resources and accounting for CLD. Her main supervisor is department chair, Dr. Gary Hansen.

Ruth originally began work at UK  in 1974 when she worked in the Animal Science Department. She worked there until June of 1978. She tried her hand at off campus work and decided she liked UK best and was reinstated in March of 1979. She was hired by Dr. John Walker as a staff assistant in the Agricultural Engineering Department. She was a staff assistant until 1998 when she took a position as the department chair’s secretary. 

Ruth lives in Paris with her husband, Gary and son, Rich. Her hobbies include reading, counted cross stitch and baking cakes. They have no grandchildren – at least not 2-legged ones. You can drive by their house most any time and find the rest of the kiddos – 12 shelties (Jordan, Bit, Cinnamon, Belle, Panda, Sandy, Blue, Tigger, Honey, Jake, Blaze and Lacey ---- and a poodle mix named Killer!
