Current Research

Currently I am working to determine what time of day and on what plant species the 12-spotted lady beetle, Coleomegilla maculata, prefers to oviposit. Additionally, I am studying the dispersal and crawling rates of C. maculata larvae on a variety of plant species. In doing this research, I hope to gain some insight into what plants could possibly be planted near or in corn fields to increase the number of C. maculata in the corn field for biocontrol.
