| QUALIFICATIONS: | Ph.D. in entomology or appropriate biological science. Applicants should have training and experience in modern insect physiology, as well as broad knowledge of insect biology. Post-doctoral experience and evidence of success in securing competitive funding are preferred. |
| JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: | The appointee will be expected to develop/maintain a nationally recognized research program in insect physiology and a teaching program in the same area. Examples of suitable research expertise include such areas as neurophysiology, endocrinology, immunity, developmental physiology, nutrition, reproductive physiology, physiological aspects of insect communication, natural product chemistry, biochemistry, etc. The appointee will be expected to interact with other entomology faculty as well as appropriate faculty in other units of the University so as to enhance research and teaching missions of all departments. Teaching duties will include at a minimum a graduate course entitled "Insect physiology and internal morphology" and the direction of graduate students. |
