POSITION: Postdoctoral Research Associate - Urban Entomology

RESPONSIBILITIES: 100% Research position. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent, applied research directed toward the management of subterranean termites in Kentucky. Areas of investigation may include, but are not limited to: field studies to delineate effects of bait and liquid termiticide treatments on termite populations, colony characterization and foraging dynamics, industry callback and consumer awareness surveys, and novel approaches for enhancing termite control. Emphasis will be on field studies conducted in urban settings. Position includes full-time technician assistant.
  
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. Background in urban entomology with research emphasis on termites is preferred. The person must be highly motivated and capable of designing and conducting field experiments with minimal supervision. A demonstrated ability to publish results in refereed journals is essential, as are strong supervisory, writing, and interpersonal skills.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Starting salary $30,500, plus university fringe benefit package. The position is for a 2 year period.
