Sorghum/Sudangrass
-
Sorghum/sudangrasses were
planted on May 6, 2002.
-
Frost occurred on May 19, 20
and 22. Freeze (24 F) occurred on May 22.
-
Sorghum/sudangrasses were
harvested down to a 4-inch stubble in 10 ft x 10 ft sections to obtain
weights. Forage samples from each variety were sent to the Kentucky
Department of Agriculture for analysis.
-
Cattle were given access to
all varieties at the same time. The cattle grazed the DeKalb SXG at 50
lbs/A seeding rate first. This preference may be due to the seeding
rate. The sorghum that was grazed the most was PS210 BMR.

problems running the sample. Moisture was estimated by results from other
