Yellowwood

Yellowwood gets its name from the color of the inner tree.
Yellowwood grows throughout Eastern Kentucky, but is most common along the Kentucky River palisades in the Bluegrass region. It produces clusters of white pea-like flowers in Spring. It was introduced and originally named by Andre Michaux as Cladrastis lutea but has recently been renamed to the more proper Cladrastis kentukea. It is the only tree with Kentucky in the Latin name.
