Welcome to the construction journal webpage of Eric Propes.   The purpose of this journal was to document a wide range of materials introduced in LA 871:  Design Implementation I (i.e., wood, brick concrete, stone, asphalt, metal, plastics) and analyze the construction techniques used in building (freestanding and retaining walls, steps, pavement, fountains, etc.)  Each entry willl use both graphic and written information to communicate the following:
1. Identification of location and environmental/urban context of the structure.

2.  Identification of the materials used.

3. Photographs and construction drawings that illustrate the context, and how the structure is believed to have been constructed and what techniques/materials were used.

4.  An evaluation of the structure considering:

    a.     Structural stability, intergrity, and durability

    b.     Visual quality

   c.      Appropriateness of material selection/ technique based on environmental/site context and use.
