The physical relationship between the town of Portsmouth and the Shawnee State University campus is an ever-changing one as the university continues to grow and expand. The goal of this design study was to propose changes that would strengthen the university's sense of place within the town as it continues to evolve, making the transition between town and campus identifiable and recognizable. Key areas of study involved major access/entry points into the campus area (particularly the western entry), its edges and boundaries, as well as the sequential experience of moving from one district into another. |
