The Process: Please read through this process so that you are familiar with the steps. It will help you get through faster and easier.

NOTE: This Group Discussion requires you to have a Yahoo! ID to join (it is free to get). When you join, you have the option to send discussion messages to another email (i.e. work email) so that it doesn't have to go to your Yahoo! email. Also if you already have a Yahoo! ID that you use for personal email you don't need to create a new one because this will not interfere with that if you send it to another email you prefer.

(You may want to print this page out for reference during the Joining Process)

STEP 1. In the Subscribe box (at the bottom of this page), enter your email address and click the purple button (Yahoo! Groups Join Now!).  It will take you to a Confirmation Page.
Example:
Confirmation Message Sent
Thank you for your request. To assist you in finding a membership for the group confirm that you own that email address. We have sent an email message to email@domain.com with instructions. Please check for the confirmation email at email@domain.com now.

STEP 2.  Go to your email and check to see that you got an email with the subject: "Please confirm your request to join hissc" from Yahoo! Groups.
Example:
Hello email@domain.com,
We have received your request to join the hissc group hosted by Yahoo! Groups, a free, easy-to-use community service.
This request will expire in 7 days.
TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE GROUP:
1) Go to the Yahoo! Groups site by clicking on this link:
http://groups.yahoo.com/i?i=R-iui5Y_frupRPfyXiR8Z_O7IK4&e=email%40domain%2Ecom

2) REPLY to this email by clicking "Reply" and then "Send" in your email program if you did not request, or do not want, a membership in the hissc group, please accept our apologies and ignore this message.

STEP 3.  Click the link and you will be taken to a webpage that says:
Example:
Request to join hissc
Welcome to Yahoo! Groups! Thanks for your interest in the group hissc.
Note: All membership requests for hissc need to be approved by the moderator (i.e. webmaster).

Click on the phrase "Join the Group".

STEP 4.   It will take you to the Yahoo! Groups login in page. 
This means you MUST create a Yahoo! ID if you don't have one.  If you do have a Yahoo! ID then simply login.  PLEASE provide at a minimum your name (your first and last name) when setting up your ID because email addresses don't always let us know who is requesting to be part of the group as well as when you participate in discussions. Especially if you leave out some profile information.

STEP 5.   When you login with your Yahoo! ID under Yahoo! Groups, you will be asked to perform 3 steps.
1.   Your Contact Information and  Comment to Owner.  Select the email address you would like this groups information to be sent and please put a short comment such as your name so that the webmaster can know who is requesting to join.

2.   Select the Message Delivery option that best suits you.

3.   Select the Message Preference option and fill in the box that prevents automatic registration and Click JOIN in the lower right hand corner.

STEP 6.  Once the Webmaster approves your request to join then you will receive a confirmation email and then have access to the HIS-Southern Chapter Groups Page.

STEP 7.  Now that you have went through the steps, in the Subscribe box below enter your email address and click the purple button to start the process.  Thanks.
