LOW THREAT to KY tobacco at this time.
Weather for the next 3-4 days should be unfavorable for infection and spread of blue mold. Susceptible crops (those more than a few days away from topping) in areas with active sources should be monitored for disease; however, fungicide applications are not recommended at this time unless active blue mold is found and weather favors disease. See the 2009 KY Tobacco Production Guide or articles under "News and Current Topics" on this page for more information on recommended controls for blue mold.
