Blue mold has been reported in eastern Tennessee.
Blue mold was confirmed on July 2in Greene County, TN. The disease was found on 2% of a 6-acre field near Mohawk, but active sporulation was not observed. Estimated first date of symptoms was June 25.
Low threat to KY tobacco at this time.
The North American Plant Disease Forecast Center projects minimal risk to tobacco from the existing sources in NC, PA, and TN. Growers should scout plants still in float beds and those set in fields for blue mold; however, the threat appears to be low at this tim.
