Project Description

National Beef Cattle Evaluation Consortium's Educational Program is intended to increase the knowledge of beef producers in all areas of beef cattle genetics.  The educational program has focused on train the trainer symposia, educational programs and written materials. The Beef Sire Selection Manual was developed as part of a national effort to serve as a source of reference material for agriculture agents and beef producers.  The Beef Sire Selection Manual consists of 13 chapters that discuss all aspects of beef cattle sire selection.  Over 5,000 copies of the beef sire selection manual have been printed and copies have been made available to Kentucky extension personnel and beef producers.

Impact

The economic impact of this program is immeasurable,  but should have an enormous long term impact. Approximately 500 copies have been distributed to Kentucky beef producers and over 6000 nationally
