Project Description

Development And Delivery Of Evironmentally Sound Disease Management Information For Forage Crops, Corn, And Turfgrasses

Impact

Substantial focus over the past has been on addressing the vastly increasing use of foliar fungicides in corn.  We not only conducted research to address questions on the value of the practice, but also established a multi-university email communication system to allow us to base Kentucky recommendations on state-of-the-art information.  Through our Extension efforts, we believe corn producers are making more informed choices about where fungicides fit in their crop production systems, with fewer aplications of unnecessary fungicides  In addition to this corn work, orgoing research and Extension work on important diseases of turfgrass and forage crops was conducted.
