The KTC Legacy Scholarship
Information for Applicants
General
The KTC Legacy Scholarship offers financial aid to
children, stepchildren, and grandchildren of current KTC members.
The annual $1,000.00 scholarship is funded by the KTC and is administered
by the KTC.
The Legacy Scholarship Committee, consisting of three past
KTC presidents, will review all applications and select the scholarship
recipient. All decisions of the
committee will be final. This
scholarship will be awarded to a student that meets all of the criteria, at the
KTC annual conference and checks will be made payable to the applicant.
Eligibility
- One
or more of the applicant’s parents or grandparents must have been a KTC
member for five or more consecutive years and must currently be a member of
the KTC or have a lifetime KTC membership.
- Students
who are not eligible for any other KTC scholarships may apply.
- The
student must be enrolled full-time at an accredited institution of higher
learning. In the case of
graduating high school seniors, they must attach a letter of acceptance to
their application.
- Past
winners are ineligible to apply the following year.
They may reapply after a one-year hiatus.
- Children
of current KTC Board of Directors are ineligible for this scholarship.
Criteria for Selection
- Applicants
will be based on academic achievement, extracurricular and community
involvement, leadership and outside
employment.
- The
student’s composition of a 500-word essay about their future goals and
aspirations. This must be an
original typewritten essay.
- Financial
need is not a factor in the selection process.
How to Apply
Students must complete and submit the application form
(PDF format) and
supply the following under one cover.
1.
Transcripts from high school or colleges attended.
2.
Typed original essay.
3.
All applications must be RECEIVED by
October 7th , 2005
.
4.
Graduating high school seniors must attach letter of acceptance to
their application.
