OTHER COMMON NAME: narrow-leaved plantain LIFE
CYCLE: Perennial; reproduces by seeds and shoots from
taproot; seed produces from June to September. MAJOR
CHARACTERISTICS*: Stems leafless and bear a short, dense flower
spike at top from 1 to 3 inches long; narrow leaves arise from base
of the flower stems; leaves are 4 to 8 inches long with prominent
veins running lengthwise, arranged in a basal rosette at the soil
