Agricultural economists apply economic theory to solve problems in agribusiness, natural resources, rural economic development, marketing, trade, policy, production, and agricultural management.

The award-winning faculty represent a wide range of training and interest areas.

We have faculty who have helped Congress develop the new tobacco legislation, who advise the World Bank about risk, who advise the Canadian government, OECD, and the World Bank about rural development.

Our faculty members are asked to testify before Congress on a regular basis.

Our graduate students also perform well.

A high percentage of our graduate students publish in refereed journals and present papers at professional meetings.

We place our students on the faculty at peer land-grant universities, with the private sector and in key government positions in the US and abroad.
