Education:                          BS in Wildlife Management from Eastern Kentucky University ‑ 1978

MS in Biology from Eastern Kentucky University ‑ 1981, Thesis project was conducting a floristic and plant ecology study at Lilley Cornett Woods, Appalachian Ecological Research Station, Letcher County, Kentucky.

 

Work History:                   Botanist for the KY Nature Preserves Commission on the Western Coal Field Studies ‑ 1980

 

                                             Environmental Specialist with Division of Water ‑ 1981‑82

 

Sr. Wildlife Biologist, KY Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Environmental Section ‑ 1982‑85

 

Upland Game Program Coordinator, KY Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources 1986‑2000.

 

 Primary duties included overseeing small game research, surveys and regulatory promulgation; and developing and coordinating the departments private lands technical guidance efforts.

 

The Nature Conservancy – Kentucky Chapter, Director of Science and Stewardship 2000 – present.

 

Primary duties include overseeing management of TNC landholdings in Kentucky; promoting use of fire management; and developing long-range conservation plans for landscape level projects.
