The current threat to tobacco in KY is low at this time according to projections made by the North American Plant Disease Forecast Center. Growers should check plants in greenhouses and outdoor float beds regularly for signs of disease and contact their local Extension agent if they suspect blue mold. We also recommend application of mancozeb (Dithane DF or Manzate Pro-Stick) at weekly intervals until plants are ready to set to protect against blue mold and target spot.
