LIFE CYCLE:  Perennial; reproduces by seed and creeping roots (A); produces seed from late April to September.

MAJOR CHARACTERISTICS*:  Upper leaves somewhat long and narrow, lower leaves shaped like arrowhead (B) with two small lobes at base; seed are small, triangular, reddish-brown and glossy (C).
