Garden Discoveries (ages 6 & up)
Stop by the Visitor Center for a different activity each day. Weather permitting, we'll wander outdoors to search for signs of spring in the garden.
Cost: $1

Saturday, April 8 at 9-11:30 a.m.
Arboretum Woods Restoration Workday
You can make a difference by joining us in our on-going efforts to remove invasive plants from the Arboretum Woods. Follow the signs and meet at the entrance to the Arboretum Woods at 9 a.m. Bring work gloves and wear sturdy shoes.

Wednesday, April 12 at 12:00 noon
Lunchtime Walk and Talk (ages 12 to Adult)
Exercise your body and your brain! Enjoy a different tour of the Arboretum each month on the second Wednesday at noon. Each tour lasts 45 minutes and starts at the Visitor Center.
Cost $1

Saturday, April 15 at 8 a.m.
Monthly Hike:
Birds of the Arboretum with Dr.Udo Savali (ages 12 to Adult)

Bring your binoculars and join us for an early morning walk as we search for the birds of spring with our eyes and ears. Biologist Udo Savali of the Bluegrass Community and Technical College will be your guide. Hikes last 60 to 90 minutes and begin at the Visitor Center.
Cost: $1

Tuesday, April 18 at 6:30-9 p.m.
Appalachian Heirloom Seed-Starting Workshop
Instructor: Julie Maruskin, Director of Clark Co. Public Library

This hands-on workshop is packed with everything you need to start your own heirloom vegetable garden. You'll learn the best methods for starting seed indoors using low-cost, free, or recycled materials. Choose seed from over 100 varieties of open-pollinated tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant and receive live tomato and pepper seedlings to transplant and take home! Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Cost: $5 (Friends $4)

Tuesday, April 25 at 11 a.m.-12:00 noon
The Kitchen Herb Garden (Adult)
Instructor: Candace Harker, Horticulturalist

Do you love herbs? Learn how to grow your own and use them in everyday cooking. Candace Harker will discuss the quintessential kitchen herb garden: which herbs every cook should have and why, and tips for growing them in your own garden. Please pre-register for this program.
Cost: $5 (Friends $4)
