Plant Donations

Open gates - Your donation is welcomePeople and events often deserve unusual recognition, and a gift to the arboretum has lasting effect. Such events may include a birthday, wedding, anniversary, a birth of a child, a memorial, or even a congratulatory wish. These are gifts that help the Arboretum grow and flourish. Here are some wonderful gift ideas. Donation Form

  • Identification Labels for plants - $25
  • Shrubs - $50           Tree - $100
    For this gift, the donor will receive a letter of appreciation and an individual or group of the donor's choice will receive an acknowledgement of the contribution and the reason for the recognition. The funds in this category will be pooled and used to plant trees and shrubs at the Arboretum and provide plant identification labels.
  • Tree for Dedication - $500
    A specific tree (approximately 2-inch caliper) will be selected at the Arboretum and dedicated to honor a person or event. The dedicated tree will be identified in the Book of Recognition maintained by Friends of the Arboretum. The donor will receive a letter of appreciation and an individual or group of the donor's choice will receive a letter with a photograph of the dedicated tree. A dedication ceremony may be arranged.
  • Tree for dedication -$1000
    (Identified by Donor Plaque) Same as above, plus a permanent bronze plaque (approximately 5" x 10") will be installed flush with the ground to identify the tree and to display the desired recognition. A dedication ceremony may be arranged.
  • Event, Workshop, or Symposium- $2000
    Donors, who fund an event will be recognized in event publicity, listed on the Arboretum bulletin board for the year, and recognized at the Friend's annual meeting.
  • Student Intern Fellowship -$3000
    Student Intern Fellowships are annual awards named as the donor requests. They will be listed on the Arboretum bulletin board, and recognized at the Friend's Annual Meeting. Student interns are supervised by a UK faculty member and work at the Arboretum.
  • Building Fund-
    Gifts in any amount may be made to the Arboretum Building Fund. Please contact the Arboretum Office at (859) 257-6955 for more information.
