Stargazing (all ages)
Bring the whole family and enjoy an evening of stargazing and telescope viewing of the Moon, Jupiter, and more with members of the Bluegrass Amateur Astronomy Club. This event is free and open to the public. If skies are cloudy, the event will be rescheduled for June 3.

Children's Garden Time (ages 5 & up)
There's always something to see and do in the Children's Garden! Come play in the dirt and help bring our Children's Garden to life every Saturday morning in June. In case of rain, we'll meet in the Visitor Center for garden-related activities and stories. Cost: $1

Whimsical Container Gardens (Teen-Adult)
Instructor: Shari Dutton, U.K. Horticulturalist
Add some playfulness to your home landscape with a whimsical container garden. Bring an old shoe, a hat or purse, or some other small container that's cute or "kitchy". Shari Dutton will provide soil and plants along with some great ideas for adding fun to your garden. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy at the picnic tables. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Cost: $5 (Friends $4)

Project WILD, Project WET, and Project Learning Tree Workshop
This combined workshop is for teachers, non-formal educators and youth group leaders. Participants receive three curriculum guides packed with hundreds of award-winning environmental education lessons and activities, plus lots of extra resources and goodies! Space is limited and pre-registration is required; call 859/257-9339 for more information. This program is sponsored by Fayette Co. Conservation District and The Arboretum.
Cost of $15 for the entire two-day workshop includes lunch on Thursday and all materials!

Arboretum Woods Restoration Workday
You can make a difference by joining us in our on-going efforts to remove invasive plants from the Arboretum Woods. Follow the signs and meet at the entrance to the Arboretum Woods at 9 a.m. Bring work gloves and wear sturdy shoes.

Full Moon Walk (ages 8 & up)
Experience the magic of the Arboretum by moonlight! As fireflies dance across the fields, you'll wander past aromatic, night-blooming flowers illuminated by the full Moon. We'll search for night pollinating insects like Luna Moths, and call for owls in the Arboretum Woods. Please register in advance for this very special program. Cost: $5

Flowers at the Arboretum! (ages 4 & up)
Join the Lexington Public Library at the Arboretum picnic tables for stories, songs and more, all about flowers. Free
Wednesday, June 14 at 12:00 noon
Lunchtime Walk and Talk (ages 12-Adult)
Exercise your body and your brain! Enjoy a different tour of the Arboretum each month on the second Wednesday at noon. Each tour lasts 45 minutes and starts at the Visitor Center. Cost $1

What's Blooming? with Susan Capley
The gardens are in full bloom! Arboretum Horticulturalist Susan Capley will lead you on a walk through the spectacular flowers of the Demonstration Garden. Monthly hikes last 60-90 minutes and begin at the Visitor Center. Cost: $1

The Web of Life is our theme this week. Come explore the plants and animals of the Arboretum with cool science activities, nature art, and fun outdoor games. Cost: $40 (Friends $35)

Growing and Caring for Fruit Trees (Adult)
Instructor: John Strang
This in-depth class will cover all the basics of home fruit tree cultivation. We'll examine site selection, varieties, and rootstock that are especially suitable for Kentucky growing conditions. Discussion will delve into pollination requirements, frost susceptibility, fertilization, plant spacing, and yields of different varieties. Cost: $5 (Friends $4)
